Reviews from Current Team Members

School Based Therapy Services is a great company. I was able to work for several districts easily because SBTS coordinated with districts on my behalf.

Questions about joining our team?

Why work for SBTS?

We are a therapist-owned and operated agency and clinic with two decades of experience in contracting.  We understand the day-to-day life of school-based therapists.  Our utmost priority is advocating for our students and therapists alike and providing evidenced based therapy in a safe, nurturing environment.

What is expected of me as an SBTS consultant?

Your role and responsibilities, as delineated in our state administrative code, will be shared with you at onboarding in one simplified, summarized document.

How many students will a therapist treat in a session?

This depends on the student's IEP.  If the IEP says individual, you will see one child.  If the IEP says group max of 3, you will either see 1, 2, or 3 students as determined by you, the clinician.

Does SBTS compensate for indirect time?

Yes. We pride ourselves in understanding and implementing caseload vs workload balance.

Does SBTS pay for report writing at home?

Yes.  You will be compensated for the time you spend writing annual reports and evaluations, even if you completed this task at home outside of school hours.

Do your therapists have a treatment room?

Yes. Our schools value our service and provide adequate space and invest in state-of-the-art equipment and current evaluation materials.

Will I work alone or with others?

SBTS values collaboration and partnerships with our districts and professionals.  In each district, you will work as an integral child study team member.  The team consists of the STUDENT regardless of age, caregiver, occupational therapist, physical therapist, speech therapist, BCBA, LDTC, social worker, psychologist, teacher, and special education teacher.  In addition, some cases require collaboration with physicians, surgeons, optometrists, dietitians, nurses, and others

Who creates my schedule?

You do. You will have the autonomy of selecting your work days and hours.  You will schedule students at your discretion.

What paperwork is required?

SBTS follows the professional standards of practice and state administrative code.  Documentation procedures and FERPA will be reviewed during onboarding if you are unfamiliar.

Do you use paper or electronic documentation?

SBTS proudly created a carload management tool, school based therapy assistant, for practitioners working in an educational setting.  You will be able to schedule, write a daily note, track student attendance and progress, and create timesheets and invoices all in one centralized location with a few clicks of a mouse.
